1st Christmas

Merry Christmas! Sienna’s 1st Christmas was wonderful. Both Jake & I took the week off and headed to Girdwood for a three nights with two other families from here. We had a wonderful time…all our condos were right next door to each other, Jake spent most of his time on the slopes and I even got out on the slopes a few times and did some cross country skiing, played lots of games. Sienna enjoyed exploring the area in her back pack, did some sledding and most of all loved all the attention. Some of my friends from Anchorage came down to visit too. We came back to Soldotna Christmas eve and spent a nice quiet evening at home and on Christmas made our way through all the snow over to our neighbors.

Let the Holidays Begin...

This Thanksgiving we are very thankful for all life has given us! Sienna had a great 1st Thanksgiving! Her uncle Eric, Tyler and Kane came for Thanksgiving. We loaded up the family and headed over to the Sullen’s for the day. It was full of lots of great food, football, fosseball, board games and lots of laughs. Friday morning the guys headed out to do some ice fishing and Sienna & I got the house ready for her other uncle & family. Aaron, Victoria, Cameron and of course Spider meet up with Jake for some ice fishing then made there way to our house. Sienna had a great time smiling and playing with Cameron. We went “Christmas Comes to Kenai” to watch the light parade, huge bonfire and fireworks (have to love living in a small town). It was wonderful to have family here!

This week Sienna helped me at my works “Tree Lighting Festive” where she got to sit on Santa lap but she loved all the kisses she got from baby Bradley (my friend Jessica’s son) I decorated the house this weekend and she is very interested in all the lights. Holidays are never going to be the same for us and we are very blessed!

Girls Weekend

Sienna & I went to Anchorage for a Girls Weekend. Since it was snowing we decided to fly. It was her first airplane flight. Once in Anchorage she had a great time watching all the kids she was around, going to Dillon’s birthday party at the bowling alley and having a slumber party at Auntie Kimberly.
On Saturday night, brave Chris watched both Sienna & MJ while Mikki & I went out to dinner with all the girls. Sienna’s eyes lit up when she was around MJ and it was adorable to watch them together. I wish we lived closer so they could get together more often.

Adventures...

Sienna experienced her first hockey game and it was a bit noisy but she seemed to like watching all the activity. I am thinking I need to take her to Jake's games instead for awhile. She ate rice cereal with a spoon and has been doing it great at home and day care. She loves (or should I say tackles) her bottle so once she figured out the spoon had something yummy for her she was all over it.
Today we all piled in the car and head to Homer (even Treble) for the day. It was gorgeous there today and I am looking forward to seeing our family photos that we had taken.
Monday is our 5 month (and last) home study (until we go back into the adoption pool in the summer). Once the report is turned in then a finalization court date will be set. It will still be a few months away but we are getting closer.

Hanging at Home

Just enjoying our Sunday after a very busy week....Sienna had her 4 month checkup on Monday and is now13lbs and doing great. She discovered that she can roll to get where she wants. My girlfriend April watched Sienna Friday night so Jake & I could head to a Halloween party. This was the first time we had been out together in way too long. Here are few pictures from this afternoon...

Sienna in Anchorage

This weekend Sienna & I headed to Anchorage on Thursday for the weekend. Jake joined us on Friday night. I had to work most of the weekend so Jake & Sienna messed around town visiting friends & family. She did wonderful (only one big melt down) and was awake for the long drive into town, a hit at the Kenai Peninsula booth and is a little shopper at heart like her mommy.

Happy Four Months

Yesterday Sienna turned 4 months old....every day brings something new with her. Recently she has been discovering all the noises and giggles she can make (especially at 5:30 in the morning). It snowed this week so it was fun to take her outside and let that first snowflake hit her face.
